Why tarot?

Tarot is seventy-eight images and a good question. That's it. No fortune, no fate, no future revealed. You pull a few cards, you look at them, and you think out loud in a structured way.

A reading is a mirror with just enough randomness in it to knock you out of your usual groove. Sometimes that's a real decision: do I take the job, do I send the text. Sometimes it's what to have for lunch. The cards don't care which. Neither do we.

You don't need to believe in anything for this to work. You just need a question, and a couple of minutes.

What a reading actually looks like

You ask something real. Doesn't have to be big. Draw a card or three. Get a read that connects the card to your actual question.

Small questions get small answers. “Should I text him back” doesn't need Hero's Journey. Big questions get room to breathe. And every reading stays with you, so next week's pull about the same job problem can build on last week's instead of starting from zero.

What it's not

Nobody's telling you what's going to happen here. No fate, no prediction, no secret future. What you get is a way to see what you already half-know, laid out somewhere you can actually look at it.

From mundane to major

A reading works the same whether you're picking a salad dressing or trying to figure out where the last five years went. The cards don't scale up for bigger questions. You do the scaling, by how long you sit with them.

Some days it's two minutes and a shrug. Some days it's the thing that gets you through a hard year. Both count.

Ask field open. What are you turning over. A question typed in.
What's under the skin. Ask that.

Who this is for

People who like to think out loud but don't always have someone free to think out loud at. People who've tried journaling and didn't stick with it, because a blank page doesn't ask you anything back.

Ask something. Pull a card. See what comes back. If it's useful, come back tomorrow with a different question. If it's not, you've lost two minutes and gained nothing.
